Film: Shared Lines – The VT Backcountry Alliance

Shared Lines: The Vermont Backcountry Alliance from T-Bar Films on Vimeo.

Check out this recent release of T-Bar Films’ latest short film, which won the Best of Grassroots award from the Winter Wildlands’ Alliance Backcountry Film Festival, in Fall 2015. The film touches highlights the emergence of the Vermont Backcountry Alliance (VTBC), a new program of Vermont’s longstanding Catamount Trail Association (CTA), and some of the work being driven by the Rochester Area Sports Trail Alliance (RASTA).

Let it snow!

No fossil fuels were consumed going skiing this weekend …

While the snow today was not as deep as it was earlier in the weekend, a subtle thaw-freeze cycle Saturday improved the skiing substantially by this morning. (Pine needles also offer up a very fun sliding surface). Days like this leave us convinced that skiing is true joy, no matter what the snow is like…

Ski you out there.

Sisters are cool…especially when they can rip knee-deep dust-on-crust in some of our favorite Green Mountain steeps.

Sometimes, you’ve just got to grab the skis, and go….Unprovoked, Maiana Snow schusses the driveway with ripening blueberries, and perhaps the coming winter season, on her mind.

Summer is awesome.

Summer Powder – Green Mountains, Vermont

After one of longest runs of consecutive powder days we’ve experienced in Vermont (60 days!), and now one of the best runs of summer powder conditions in recent memory (thank you rain!), 2015 will leave us with happy memories to reflect upon for generations to come. Not surprisingly, we’ve got another inch or two of sweet rain heading our way later this week, so have fun out there…
