Off Piste in the Northeast – Chapter 3: Mad River Glen, VT

(UPDATE: You can catch more of this footage at our slideshow, Off Piste in the Northeast, this coming Monday, Feb 15 @ 7pm at Sugarbush’s Gate House Lodge (Lincoln Peak Area)

There is no doubt that Mad River Glen, VT has some of the most exciting and challenging on and off trail ski terrain around. Yet, there is much more to Mad River Glen than its “Ski It If You Can” reputation. Nearly 100% free of blasting snow guns, dangerous snowmaking features/equipment and trails choked with skiers (there are no high-speed quads, quads or triples here), skiing here is a truly peaceful and often solitary experience. And it’s great network of easy-going runs, all of which course their way to the one and only base lodge, speak to MRG’s gentler side. While the video here exhibits Mad River’s wild side, here’s a great blog post about Mad River Glen’s gentler side… Enjoy!

  1. Thanks Brian and Emily – great video and very inspiring. I haven’t skied MRG in many years and I’ve just decided I’ll be going there THIS season!
